What to Check Before Ordering Custom Dust Collector Filters in Bulk

A quotation may show the right material, dimensions and price, but a custom filter order still needs a clear specification before production. Small differences in the connection, seal or finished length can affect an entire batch.

For importers, distributors and equipment suppliers, the aim is to make sure both sides are working from the same approved details.

Agree on one drawing and specification

Confirm the drawing revision that applies to the order. If dimensions have changed during the quotation stage, update the drawing rather than leaving the correction in an email.

For filter bags, check the finished dimensions, top connection, bottom construction and any reinforcement. For cartridges, confirm the end caps, openings, mounting details and gasket.

Define how critical dimensions are measured and agree on the relevant tolerances. For example, a cartridge length should clearly state whether it includes the gasket. A used filter can help identify the construction, but wear and distortion may make some measurements unreliable.

Confirm the media and treatment separately

The order should identify the agreed base material and any membrane, coating or other treatment. Descriptions such as “polyester” or “antistatic” may need more detail before production can begin.

Where a particular performance requirement applies, agree on the supporting specification or test information. If the media changes after quotation, review the change before approving the order.

Decide how the first item will be approved

For a new custom design, agree whether approval will use a drawing, inspection measurements, photographs or a physical sample.

Dimensional approval and operating approval are different checks. A sample may fit the equipment correctly while its filtration and cleaning performance still need evaluation under the intended conditions.

Record what has been approved, who approved it and whether any changes are required before the remaining quantity is produced.

Agree on inspection and packing

Set the inspection points before production. Depending on the product, these may include critical dimensions, seams, end caps, gasket placement and visible damage.

Packing also needs attention. Confirm how the filters will be protected from crushing, moisture and handling damage, and how different specifications will be identified. Clear item labels are particularly useful when one shipment contains several similar sizes.

Finally, confirm the quantity, delivery terms and when the lead time starts, including any drawing or sample approval needed first.

Verlofy supplies custom dust filter bags and dust collector filter cartridges. Share one specification you regularly purchase, together with your quantity, and we can prepare a quotation and discuss the details that need confirmation before a bulk order.
